Rape Relief and all their misguided supporters and allies against the decriminalization of sex work have claimed to represent feminists across Canada for some time now. Sex workers who identify as feminists are thought by Rape Relief advocates to be too incompetent to realize our own degradation. It is oppression in it's ugliest form. Full of hate and anger towards men, feminists like those who make themselves champions of the abolitionist movement, create the same forms of oppression that they fight against on behalf of women they deem worthwhile. It is elitist and discriminatory. It makes my blood boil. It is one of the obstacles to my efforts towards feeling unconditional love for all.
So, it gives me great pleasure to introduce a loud and proud feminist group that supports decriminalization and self-determination for sex workers. Their op-ed was published in the Vancouver Sun today. They include over 72 feminists in Vancouver alone - and those just the ones who know about the group. I have no doubt there are hundreds of more feminists who support safety and dignity for ALL WOMEN. (and then there's those of us who sincerely wish for safety and dignity of all people - we love our men too!)
